Is Mecca going to start having some tournaments?
I see Mecca is on the tournaments list. Anyone know If he is gonna run some or what kind? I should be there on saturday but not to play just to watch some and do some buy/trading. Ive been picking up legacy cards but I dont have a complete deck yet because i got a killer deal on some drains.

Yes Mecca is having Tournaments, right now it is just draft every other tuesday and Leagues / Casual Everyother Tuesday. With tonight being that legacy 2HG. IT seems Paul is not inclined to actually list any events however. Hopefully he will start at some point.

I emailed pjcc in Aurthur I'm trying to see what they have going on up there since I havnt been there since gradeschool.
It's getting pretty boring this winter so I'm going to see If I can find some eternal tournies to go to.I'm not 100 percent sure but I should make the next legacy tournament.

I think Paul and Judy's stopped holding Magic tournaments several years ago. I haven't been there for quite a while, however.

YAY! Bridget and I won the 2HG last ngiht YAY! of course there was no entry fee, and thus no prizes. AND While Some of us were told last Tuesday that the 2HG would be Legacy, others who called or whatever were told to bring Extended. So, It was an awesome mix of formats where some teams had both extended and Legacy. We only had Legacy, and another team only had extended. W00t! It seems that everytime I go there I am little bit more dissapointed than I was the week before. I am so glad no one I talked to decided to show up as they would have been PISSED.
Martin is there any chance John could move the hobby horse to Springfield... perhaps next to my house. There is room. I promise.

Well he used to have Pokemon tournaments at his Springfield store for a while so perhaps if you take that up he will restart Pokemon for you. Seriously I always wondered why John doesn't push MTG tournaments for his store in Springpatch but I think Dave the manager up there just doesn't want the responsibility to run them:(

Does that store even have space to?
Capital City has a nice turnout on Fridays (more for constructed than limited) and they usually run 2 each Friday. A late draft after the first tourney is over. I don't know if anything goes on on Saturday. Wait, I think Mecca does Pokemon on Saturday. Of course the tourney proabbly allows both yu-gi-oh and pokemn cards. Who knows.
And still, from what I've seen in the month or so of playing around the home town, It still appears Friday at the Horse are the biggest turnouts, so you still make it the place to be!
And did you know that a foil Obliterate Books for Approx $17???? I was gonna trade for one last night and still would only price it out at a $1 foil because; who plays with Obliterate??? but yeah $17 Scrye.

They probably don't have the space now but in the old store John for a while had two other stores right next door to Readers World and both were huge places, one he did use for selling discount books and comics and the other he just used for storage for a little while but either one would have been great for gaming. Our Friday nights at the Horse have been dwindling somewhat over the last few weeks but I think some people are waiting for Conflux to shake up Standard a bit, and starting next month I may throw in a Friday night draft for at least one or two Friday's just to change things up a little.

No he was talking about turning one of the buildings next to us in Tville into one but he just doesn't have time he told me the other day that he his throwing his hat in for the mayor race in Taylorville and he is on the City Council so he just doesn't have time for a book store as he likes to run that himself. If you have interest in certain books you can always ask him he can probably find most books and sell them to you at a decent price.

He did used to have MTG tournaments at the Springfield store about 7 years ago. It was when he had the former campaign headquarters next to Readers World rented. I think they ran tournaments there from 2000-2001.

That might be right, I know that Dave the manager in our Springfield store used to play and have interest in MTG but I think he stopped playing and lost interest around 7-8 years ago which may be a reason he doesn't run tournaments up there since he doesn't keep up to date with the newer sets.
