| Christian! |         Christian, what was going on with you last night (the Tuesday draft). In game 2 when played each other you did something very odd, would you care to explain?

|         I had a really nasty headache Tuesday night. I hadn't eaten since that morning and it kept getting worse as the night went on. Eating candy and chips only seemed to make things worse. My concentration probably wasn't at its best.

|         I have had headaches before but I always knew where my deck was compared to my sideboard and then you replaced a swamp with your sideboard card(that 2/2 pro blue guy). Just seemed real weird to me and after I defended you on a earlier post I hope you have not made a liar of me.

|         I had sided out the pro-blue guy as he was useless against your deck. I pointed it out and then revealed my hand to you. This consisted of two swamps after pitching the sideboard card, esentially giving you the game by allowing you to attack with all your creatures without having to worry about effects on my part. Even the pro-blue ceature would have done nothing to help me. The only things that could have helped me at that point were a Thornling or a Bone Splinter. My sideboard was on my right hand side, while my deck was on the left. Drawing the 2/2 pro-blue from the wrong pile essentially ruined any chance I may have had of winning.

|         Well why did you draw a card from your sideboard that was 2 or 3 feet to your right when your deck placed right by your left hand had been there for 2 games and you had been drawing just fine from it up until that point? It just seemed really weird because you had to actually reach for your sideboard to draw the card, and the way I saw it was you drew the 2/2 guy had 3 1/1 Saproling tokens in play and I had basically 3 5/5 creatures (well that 2/2 Kinght guy who gets +3/3 was one of them) and you were at about 10 life and the thing that got me was you apparently had two swamps in your hand when you drew the 2/2 guy from your sideboard and when I pointed it out you put one of those swamps back on top of your sideboard facedown and then I looked at it (the swamp) and then you said whoops showed me the 2/2 guy and put it back and took your swamp back. The way I looked at it was you wanted a 2/2 along with the 3 1/1 Saprolings to block and kill at least one of my 5/5's and gain yourself a extra turn or two to draw into a kill spell? I don't know I just thought the whole thing was extremely weird.

|         I was at 5 life and you had a Mostodon in play which would give all your creatures trample. The 2/2 creature would have done nothing to prevent lethal damage, assuming you had been intelligent enough to give your creatures trample. I realize this may be a big assumption on my part, but I am operating on the assumption that you possessed sufficient mental facilities to figure that out. If I ever intended to cheat you, I would like to think I would at least do so in a way that would actually benefit me. Even if you had not had the Mostodon in play, I don't quite understand why I would want to delay the game one turn by drawing a useless 2/2 chump blocker just so I could draw the same card next turn that I would have drawn anyway. Perhaps my logic doesn't operate at the same level as yours.         If you really want to boost your concentration sometime, I recommend that you wait until you have a migraine then spend 30 minutes sitting across a table from some dipshit who continually repeats the words "OH Billy" every 15 seconds. It is truly a wonderful experience. Not only does it improve your concentration, it just makes the whole evening seem worthwhile.         This used to be a very pleasant place to play, but it seems like the atmosphere has grown increasingly less friendly over the last few months. While it has been very nice to have a place to play within easy driving distance with a large number of players that I really like, the increasingly acrimonious atmosphere has become a real turn of for me lately. If I was looking for hostility and bad manners I would simply play Magic the Gathering Online. I don't mean this as a criticism of the many likable people who play here (including even Zack) but as a response to what I perceive to be an increasingly hostile and less friendly mindset. In the future, I am inclined to take my business elsewhere.

|         I was just pointing out that it seemed odd to me that you would mistake a 2/2 creature (or any creature for that matter) for a swamp migraine or not but if the migraine was that bad then I sincerely apologize. I will say I haved played against you for many years and never had a problem with you and I don't know why with the other "incident" recently that you would chose to deliberately cheat all of a sudden.

|         What the hell has happened at The Horse while I have been gone!!!!!!! I now fear a misplay at the start of league on Saturday that will be instantly jumped on as cheating. Seriously, man, shit!!!! Can't we all just drop this crap, pay attention to the game, call out mistakes in a private, less aggresive manner and have fun again.

|         I agree totally that it is a game and it should be fun, I think things have just gotten a little out of hand here on the forums and don't worry Christian if you want to still play at The Horse you won't have to play this "dipshit" I have no desire to play right now.

|         I was a little angry when I wrote my response earlier, so I will attempt to reiterate my reply more calmly. In the second game of my match against my opponent I inadvertently drew from the wrong pile of cards. My opponent was clearly unaware of this mistake, but I felt it was appropriate to promptly point out my error. To the best of my understanding this is the required response in such a situation. I revealed the card I had drawn from my sideboard pile, a Nactl Outsider, as well as the two swamps in my hand, returned the Nactl Outsider to the top of my sideboard, and then passed the turn. On the next turn my opponent attacked with a Mastodon, a Cavern Thoctar, and a Knight of the Skyward Eye. As I was low on life ( I can’t remember the exact total, but I believe it was between 2 and 5), I then conceded the game to my opponent. I believe I acted in accordance with the rules, although I probably should have drawn a card to replace the improperly drawn sideboard card I had revealed. Short of self immolation, I am not sure what more my opponent required of me. As my opponent was also judging the event, I believe he could have issued a warning or even a match loss if he believed it was appropriate. Aside from attacking and winning the match, my opponent made no other mention of the game. As this was a relatively casual, unsanctioned event, I thought no further of it and proceeded to chat with another player before my next match. The fact that I was not feeling well may have made me appear to be less friendly than usual, and my opponent may have opted to avoid me for this reason. I also felt terrible by the night’s end and went home to take several aspirins and lay down. This may have prevented my opponent from discussing things with me after the tournament. I have made multiple careless errors over the years, as have my opponents, but we have always been able to resolve things amicably. If the error would somehow effect the outcome of the game, I am always willing to take a loss for my mistake. I am uncertain why my opponent became so vehemently convinced that he had somehow been cheated (as he easily won the game anyway) or why he did not mention the incident at the time or attempt to discuss it with me face to face afterwards. I do know that I am not a big fan of angry rants in discussion areas. I also believe that responding to perceived rudeness with further rudeness is as bad, if not worse, than the original offending behavior, however. I would like to apologize if I was angry or ill mannered in my earlier response. I would probably have posted this earlier but my ISP has been down since Friday evening, and I didn’t particularly feel like driving up to Springfield to use the computers at the UIS library.

|         Fair enough, and on my part I apologize for posting something in a public forum when it could have been handled privately between two friends which I do still consider you a friend Christian. And I do suggest anybody who wants to play at The Hobby Horse just be respectful of everyone else there, we can all have a lot of fun at The Horse but we need to stop the bickering or else our attendance will continue to fall and John will put a end to The Hobby Horse very quickly as he has already suggested I just don't open the store on Wednesday's and Thursday's because we don't make enough money those days and if we don't make enough on the days we actually have tournaments we just won't be open at all anymore and then I will be a sad panda:(

|         I for one sure did miss Christian at league play on Saturday. For all that did not attend this past Saturday, come next week!!!! It doesn't matter if you missed one or if you can't make all of them in the future because Martin had great prize support for the event. I am not sure if he will be able to do the same payout every week, but I got 4 packs of Conflux for 1st place and he prized out to 4th place. Good times, and good cards were pulled.

|         Yep and if you missed this last Saturday morning and want to show up next Saturday I will give you 6 grab bags so you will have the same number of cards as everyone else. Of course you will be 9 points behind that unstoppable juggernaut named Jeremy Banks but I thought everyone that played last Saturday had good decks, I believe Dylan went 2-1 that day and he had some killer cards in his deck.

|         I will only charge $6 this week for someone who did not play last week, that's only a buck per grab bag. And everyone who did play last week is just $3 for prize support.
