Double Cast
How nuts can this get if you have a bunch of Double Cast spells in your deck? Also, I would like to know if you can actually play non-instant spells with Double Cast.

I would assume you could. Mind's Desire says: "... remove the top card of your library from the game. Until end of turn, you may play that card without paying its mana cost."

I posted the answer in the spoilers, but yes you can cast non-instants with double cast.

In the case of Mind's Desire, you still have to follow the rules when casting the spells. You can put an instant on the stack, but you can't put a sorcery, creature, enchantment, or artifact on the stack if that instant is on the stack.

I still don't fully understand why even Windbrisk Heights would allow you to play a non-instant when you can play instants.

I finally realized that it's part of the ability of the windbrisk heights and it supercedes all rules. I guess the same is true for Double Cast. I hate rules modifying abilities.

Here is a fun thing to do:
Play a spell with double cast then Twincast it.
