Cascade combo?
There's a deck I've seen on the net that uses ardent plea and violent outburst to find the only card with a lower cost in the deck, Hypergenesis. They put a whole bunch of fattys in the list and I'm guessing that they just want to search for the hypergenesis, put stuff into play, and win. Does this work?

Yes this does work. I'm working on a similar build.

Hypergenesis has really shot up in price over the last couple of weeks.

Yeah P Dude I was thinking about one too. Don't know about the leylines though. Fierce empath sounds like a good creature to include.

Just put it on MWS, about to test it. Just need to make a board first.

         Couple complaints:

I hate commandeer. Almost always useless replaced with 1 more hyper and 3 confiscate

Revier demon dosen't work and malfegor sucks. I replaced them with Karrthus and Angel of dispair.

Also came up with an SB, so make suggestions:

         // Sideboard
SB: 3 [MR] Rule of Law
         SB: 3 [10E] Pithing Needle
         SB: 3 [TSP] Ancient Grudge
         SB: 3 [LRW] Thoughtseize
SB: 3 [SOK] Kataki, War's Wage

You do realize that Rule of Law is counter intuitive.

I was also thinking of Karrthus Zack. I disagree on your whole sideboard and here's why: they all mess up your combo, they're all below 3. From what I've seen, the sideboard/main needs answers for: Ethersworn Canonist, Rule of Law, Chalice of the Void, Meddling Mage, Voidslime, and all counterspells. Shriekmaw, Kodama's Reach, and Wipe Away would be okay.
Question: Would Mulldrifter/Fierce Empath work? What I mean is, whenever we play Hypergenesis, and put Mulldrifter into play would we draw two cards and be able to play those cards as part of Hypergenesis? If it works that would be pretty cool. In general how would the comes into play triggers of creatures work on the stack when they are put into play by Hypergenesis?

All the triggered abilities will go on the stack after Hypergenesis has completely resolved in APNAP order. That means, if played on your turn, your opponent's triggered abilities will resolve first, then yours will. With Mulldrifter, you will unfortunately draw the two cards after Hypergenesis has resolved.

IMO, the best creature packages for this deck is either big hasty dragons using Karrthus, Hellkite Overlord, and Bogardan Hellkite with other big creatures or a removal package with Sundering Titan, Angel of Despair, Woodfall Primus, Realm Razer or hard-to-deal with guys like Darksteel Colossus, Inkwell Leviathan, Progenitus, and Empyrial Archangel. I also thought about using 3 Decree of Silence, too.

You already have Counterspell answers with bosejiu. How would kodama'a reach help in any way? And shriekmaw already has 4 in the maindeck. Also, i wasnt thinking of below 3. Ill have to find something.

Bosejiu doesn't help Hypergenesis. My bad Zack on the Kodama's Reach, I was getting artwork and K names mixed up in my head I meant Krosan Grip.
Shriekmaw is good and all the big hasty fatty's are awesome. Never thought of Decree of Silence, I freaking traded mine last Saturday :( Oh well I'll get some more.

I figure kataki would be fine to remain in the board, because you are only going to bring it in against affinity and its game when it lands.

I figure just don't even play the deck because it sucks.....but thats my opinion. Counterspells absolutely ruin that deck. Any of them. Any of them whatsoever. Faeries would still demolish the hell out of this deck. And Boseiju is kinda pointless. Especially since it's legendary(I believe) and it doesn't help the spell that you need to resolve(Hypergenesis). I would rather not play a deck that if you can't resolve a single card, then you lose.

Spellstutter Sprite. Anybody? Anybody? Mana Leak? Those two cards in the same deck almost always mean automatic win against that Hypergenesis crap. Because of the lack of land that the deck has, you'll never be able to cast your good creatures, so if you can't find a cascade spell, or if your opponent has a counterspell, it's an automatic loss. Good game. Nice try. See ya later, Hypergenesis.

Now if the format were different, and Faeries wasn't as dominant, I would say go for it, but thats not the case, and Faeries is dominant, so this deck sucks. Sorry to be so hateful but it's absolutely 100% factual that this deck cannot beat Faeries unless the Faerie player were dumb enough to keep a hand with 0 counterspells. Don't get me wrong, this deck kicks aggro's ass, but the smart players will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever lose to this pile. Oh, did I mention a good aggro deck in Extended called Bant Aggro? It runs Stifle. And Mana Leak.

Wowsers quite harsh on the crushing ideas.... Lots of decks don't stand a chance in the constructed environment, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun to play and worth the time to tweak them to make them as good as they can be. I mean obviously it isn't going to beat any kind of storm combo, but no one was claiming it would.....

Of course with talk of kitaki maybe there is some interest in playing it in an extended tourney.

I'm not denying it's ability to be amazingly fun to play, but I'm also not going to deny it's ability to get it's butt kicked.

But seriously, the above list would need a crapload of work. No Boseiju. None. It's not needed.

I never made the list, just found a random list. Agreed it needs work, but the concept is in the early stages. Simian Spirit Guide can get turn two kills. Or Violent Outburst their end step, the Ardent Plea/Violent Outburst during your next main phase while they're tapped out. Counterspells can be played around. I'll admit I haven't done any testing yet but I'm working on other decklists too. I'm merely speculating at the moment.

You can find a pretty good list at http://www.starcitygames.com/magic/misc/17417_Flow_of_Ideas_Cascade_The_Next_Broken_Mechanic.html. With Simian Spirit Guide you can go off on turn 2 pretty consistently, or even turn 1.

I've been playing it a lot more and it absolutley WRECKS anything that dosent have a counter by turn 2 or 3. And since outburst is an instant, its not hard to play around. I do believe this deck will be a top contender in extended.

4 Serum Powder pretty much allow you to keep mulliganing until you draw into the turn 2 combo.
