| What tournament for Sat. May 30th |         So what would most people like to see for Saturday May 30th since the all-rare draft will not be on that day. Would people show up for $20 entry for Standard? You would get a pack for playing and for a grand prize maybe half the total entry fee in cash? For example if 15 people show up the grand prize would be $150 cash and maybe second place a booster box of Alara Reborn? I can cover most of the cash prize myself that way the store makes decent money and people have something to play for. I can even sanction it if most people prefer that. And of course the more people that show up the bigger the cash prize, 20 people would be $200 cash prize for first. Let me know what you think and if you prefer some other format.

|         Also the start time for this one can be later than 11a.m. if most people prefer. If it is later than 11a.m. just don't expect a lunch break because there will not be one.

|         I am down with a $20 Standard tournament and the prize format what you have described above. Believe me or not, I actually do prefer that 11 A.M. start time, not only because of lunch, but because it gives plenty of time the rest of the day to chillax.

|         20 bucks for a constructed tournament is, in my opinion, too much regardless what the main prize is. If it was $10 (or $11), I could do it, but not $20. |

|         I guess if I only do $10(or $11) the grand prize probably wouldn't be cash or at least not much cash. I can just do the $10 box tournament if that is what most people want. I just want more than 7 or 8 people to show up for this one.

|         I am fine with a $20 Standard tournament.

|         Penny Dude, I'm sure there are people out there that could loan you $10( or $9).

|         The money isn't an issue. I just don't want to pay $20 for a constructed tournament. So, if it ends up being $20, I won't show up. I'd rather help Jeremy move into his house. |

|         Apparently you don't get my point. I won't pay $20 for a constructed tournament. It's not worth it to me. |

|         A rare occasion when I disagree with Bens logic. Just because someone doesnt want to pay x ammount of dollars more for a tournament to win a proportionally larger amount of prize is foolish. By that measure, why not make it 50 dollars, 75 dollars, etc. , etc..... People make decisions about what things are worth to them on damn near a daily basis and decide to purchase or not. I also would not show up for 20 buck standard tournament to win prizes that include nothing I need. Hell, for that matter I wouldnt show up for damn near any prize. The rare draft on the other hand is a decent investment regardless of your tournament outcome. As this post is a little late because the rare draft was on after all, I can all but promise 30 something people would not have shown up for a standard, 20 dollar entry fee tourney regardless of what the prize was.

|         Yes the rare draft pretty much guarantees you will get $40-$50 worth of cards and that's if you really go out of your way to pick the cheapest cards you see in the packs! So yes for $20 Standard where you wouldn't be guaranteed to recoup most or all of that then sure we wouldn't get 20-30 people playing in it. Some people just don't like standard nearly as much as Legacy or Vintage or Extended, if I did I 10 proxy Vintage tournament with a Mox Emerald for a grand prize and had $25 entry I bet I wouldn't get 34 people at the Horse to play in that format either.
