| Old D&D Game |         This is a game I used to play when I was younger, and it has been lost to me until yesterday. When after a lot of scrounging the interwebs, I found it again. The game may not be great, it may not even be good. I enjoy it. It is very simple and very easy to die. If you want to give it a shot, have at it.                  You can download it right here:         http://midmagic.com/applications/dnd1986.zip                  Download the zip, extract it to some folder you have created. (I called mine D&D!) Then all you have to do is run the DND.Exe. Real simple. You don't have to instal anything, it is self contained.                  The first parts of the game are pretty easy to get through (character creation and what not) once in a dungeon you can hit "H" for a list of the controls as they may be tricky depending on your keyboard.                  If you want to play we should see how high we can get our characters before they die. Right now I am level 6.                  So... Check it out!

|         So how do you heal yourself if your not a cleric? You just pick stuff up and leave the dungeon right away or what?

|         You get healed when you leave the dungeon (also gold is converted into xp something like 3/1 or something) You can find special items, one of which is the ring of regeneration and for each + it has, you gain that much life each space you move.

|         Oh I see, I had picked up a +3 shield and like 6000 gold but I didn't leave and my next encounter I died horribly to a giant!

|         yep, you will probably die many many times. At least that is what I have done! the best is if you get teleported somewhere and then you are lost!

|         Level 11 is impressive, I have tried several times and the highest I have got so far is only 4! I even try hit and run out of the dungeon tactics but there is way to much of level 2 Ogre hits you and you die on first hit crap! One time I stumbled into a dragon's lair (level 3 dragon I think) and I died immediately!
