The all rare draft
I saw your pole on improving the all rare draft and I have to say, martin, that it doesnt need improving! True I wasnt happy with the redrafting the top 8. The reason, however was that i had plans that night and was caught off guard by the change. Redrafting the top 8 was an idea that had a huge amount of support ( I was the only one who protseted ), and so it probably was a good idea! If i could make a sugestion I would say to leave the draft as is! I mean seriously, what could you do to improve it? I would be upset about the no lunch break ( being diabetic, that would suck not to eat ). And the last thing that you need to do, in my opinion , would be to rush the tournament along. The all rare draft is an epic tournament and should be treated as such! Large high value tournaments should take time. Thats why we have time limits, anyway! And as far as prize support, you can go 0-5 and leave with your entryfee in cards! A door prize would be an awesome thing for you to do, but i dont belive that it is nessecary ( my spelling sucks, I know ). In closing, the tournament is just fine the way that it is! Some people will complaine about some things, as they allways do ( and i should know, im a huge complainer ). But the all rare draft is awesome just the way that it is!

One last thing. I want to thank you for hosting these all rare drafts, martin. They are always fun and everyone that plays always leaves with at least their moneyback! An awesome tournament! Thankyou, martin!

I agree with you Mike I think it is a great format that is fun and worth the $25 or $30 I charge for it even if a person doesn't make top 8. I was just a little disapointed with the turnout this last time, 29 people for a Black Lotus didn't seem like many, but next time I won't schedule it on Halloween and I will try to advertise it a little better. It was just weird to have 29 people for a Lotus when the last all-rare draft in May for a Mox Emerald we had 36 people wanting to play so it may have just been a bad timing thing on my part. Oh well, next one will probably be in April or early May and I am eyeing a Time Walk for the next one and probably only $25 entry fee for the next one.

Holiday big tourneys suck when you have kids. Must have lunch break. I personnaly would have been pissed at the redraft idea. I cannot stand a tournament structure changing after it has started.

The redraft, (while it totally sucked ass for me.....) I think is ideal. Nothing sucks more than losing a tournament to someone whom you had no choices into how they were able to draft their deck.

I honestly may not do the redraft again, I did it this last time because of the huge grand prize and I also had PLENTY of all rare packs left over so I thought it would be fair and give top 8 some extra cards. Next time if we have 35-40 people I may not have enough extra packs to redraft anyway so it probably will not happen again and if it does I will try to warn people well in advance.
