| Next All-Rare draft |         I am planning the next All-Rare draft for Saturday April 3rd. How does this date work for most people? The grand prize will probably be a Unlimited Time Walk and the format will be 3 all-rare packs and 1 5/5/5 pack and then 1 super-pack per table. $25 entry fee. I will probably not redraft the top 8 this time. Let me know your thoughts.

|         I should be able to make it, but I'm still not a fan of the 5/5/5 pack. |

|         I'm down! Why not the fan of the 5/5/5? I love the 5/5/5.

|         I think the 5/5/5 is amazazing..
This was on Evan Erwin's "The Magic Show", so I'm 100% sure it's correct. |

|         To be honest, the 5/5/5 is probably the most important pack in the all-rare draft. It provides commons and uncommons that can fit into your curve. Everyone knows that if you were to play an all-rare deck, you'd be hard pressed to play anything before turn 4.

|         My biggest thing with the 5/5/5 packs is it gives you a decent chance to get a artifact/enchantment kill spell because in just the all-rare packs there are virtually none of those cards and without that option a card like Ensnaring Bridge or Moat (which may be in a super-pack this time) can be totally broken. Also even if I just gave everybody 3 all-rare packs and the one card out of the super-pack I would still charge the same $25 entry fee so look at the 5/5/5 as a free pack if you will.

|         I've never been a fan of the 5/5/5 pack either. It is an ALL RARE draft, right? Not saying it should be taken out, just not a personal fan of it. It gives too much removal to red, black, and white. It gives artifact and enchantment removal which makes it tougher to draft good artifacts and enchantments. It makes the decks curve out too fast. I much preferred the days of old where decks were slower. Remember it was because of the true all rare draft a little while ago that I was able to win with an all blue deck. That simply cannot be done with a 5/5/5 pack in the mix. This all really just a matter of opinion, 5/5/5 pack or not, it's a level playing field out there!                 ....and that day should be fine for me.

|         I do tend to put some spot removal in 5/5/5 packs yes but in any draft including a all-rare draft I think there should be some removal options as all-rare packs are usually very limited in removal spells other than the occasional Wrath card. But I think blue is still a very playable color even with the 5/5/5 pack included, I really spend a lot of time in making the packs as balanced as I can, I really don't just throw random cards in these packs I really try to make any of the 5 colors playable in all-rare drafts. And artifacts and enchantments can still be very powerful in the format, but I don't think 1 Moat or Ensnaring Bridge should win the tournament almost by itself.

|         I love the 5/5/5 pack personally. We should just change the name of the tourney to the 4/5ths rare draft!!

|         Haha, yep the "almost" all-rare draft anyway. What cards would you guys love to see in a super-pack by the way? And keep the requests under the $100 range as Black Lotus or any power 9 cards will not be considered obviously!

|         I think Raging River could be a fun card to play. |

|         Some powerful Standard cards such as Jace and Baneslayer, maybe Abyssal Persecutor. Jitte is also a very great card for a super pack. Cryptic Command, any Planeswalkers, maybe some duals. Pretty much what you've already been doing is great!

|         The new Jace will be in a super pack as will Walletslayer Angel I am sure. Raging River is interesting I will probably include it, red seems tough for me to find the expensive super-pack cards for some reason.

|         I have had Sneak Attack before in a super-pack and it was just because I was desperate for a $10ish red card, Banefire is ok I suppose for a super-pack. I will have to look up more older red cards there has to some that are in the $10-$20 range that are somewhat playable.

|         Ali from Cairo is both useful and expensive. And pretty much any Rare from Alpha/Beta would be expensive, but not liekly useful. Except fork and wheel of fortune, which are sweet! Shivan Dragon wouldn't be too bad either, but that is SUPER pricey.

|         Gravity Sphere is interesting, I see a buy it now for $5 for one of those on Ebay which barely qualifies it for a super-pack but it is interesting.

|         i would personally like to see the dci player rewards lightning bolt in the super pack, its a common but its valued in the $13 to $15 dollar price range on ebay and star city sells it for $15 so its in the price range and its a very played card in standard

|         natural order, dual lands, survival of the fittest, mind slaver, stroke of genius, goyf, mana drain, scroll rack, smoke stacks, Nether Void, berserk, Intuition, Wrath of God, Memory Jar, reanimate, and iona are some similarly powered cards. Also you might want to think about giving the super rare pack out first for the consistency of deck construction. |
|
|         I may give the super pack first this time just to switch things up a bit. You only get one card out of the super-pack so I doubt it will sway your deck construction that much but I guess a Moat could make you pick more flyers.
