Pageing Josh
You said that you will help anyone with deck ideas, right? Well I have an idea, and I would love some input. I have been working on a goblin deck for a little bit and would love to see what you suggest about it.

Here is the core of the deck = 4 goblinguide, 4 emberhauler, 4 warreninstigator, 4 goblincheiftan, 4 siegegang, 4 lightning bolt, 4 dragon fodder. For land I use 4 aridmesa, 4 scalding tard, and about 8-10 mountians. I also use 4 of the land from worldwake that come into play tapped and when they do, target creature cant block. I am also considering staggershock and burst lightning. For the board, I know that I want manabarbs and combust, but other than that, I am not sure. Any opinion that I can get would be helpful. Thanks.

Searing blaze, bolt and burst lighning seem like a fine burn suite.

Hey Mike! Evan is right about flameslah being a good card, but I think Combust can replace it in the SB because most of the shit you want to kill is going to a) have a 4-5 toughness and b) be blue or (mostly) white. The major problem I see with decks like this are Day of Judgment which can really hinder your play and keep you from getting a board position you can be proud of. Sadly, for mono red it's tough to handle that with counter or other tricks (e.g. Dauntless Escort). However, If you can use burn to clear the way of early blockers and only commit half your hand to the board and still win, then you should be good. It will just take some time to gauge the proper amount of beatdown to cards in hand. On another note, Forked Bolt is an excellent meta-game sideboard (and even mainboard depending) if there is any amount of Bant. Being able to off a Heirarch and Cobra for one red mana is a huge boost. I think the Smoldering Spires is a good idea. Maybe even better than Teetering Peaks, although the Peaks are good with Instigator. Searing Blaze is an excellent tempo spell when you can kill a blocker and get 3 to the dome! Your toughest matchups will be U/W Control and Bant so most of your SB should be dedicated to that. If I think of more I'll update!

Leyline of Red stuff seems ok in the Sb.

Quest of the goblin lord. That crappy uncommon from worldwake. If I play dragonfodder and siegegang, I can almost charge it for free. That enchantment could take the place of teetering peeks. I think that the last goblin, however, has to be the bushwacker! Win out of nowhere seems good to me. I know that 4 combust are going to be in the board. The creatures that I fear the most are baneslayer, rhox warmonk, wall of denial, and wall of reverance. Combust is the perfect awnser to 3 of those 4 creatures. There is a lot of red deck wins played down here, so I believe that I am going to have the red 3 drop that kills artifacts in my board to screw dragonclaw.

Maniac vandal is going to see play in so many red sideboards. Too bad he isn't a goblin.

I might consider flameslash. Problem is, I am just not that worried about putridleech with this deck. My goblins have one goal, damage my opponent. If my opponent blocks with leech, he doesnt dare pump if I have open mana. That means that he just trades with one of my goblins. The most annoying creature in jund will be thrinax, without a doubt!

But, looking at the first 2 PTQ's with M11, Jund has ZERO top 8's. In Japan 6 of the top 8 were either TurboLand w/ Primevil Titan, or a TitanRamp strategy. I don't think Jund is going to be a front runner anymore. Not being able to play Blightning in the main for fear of Vengevine and/or Obstinate Baloth really hurts. I think Jund is going to be put out to pasture to take up a life as an extended deck with Fulminator Mage, and/or Boggart Ram-Gang instead of the Blightnings and maybe even Putrid Leeches.

This was on Evan Erwin's "The Magic Show", so I'm 100% sure it's correct.

Most of the lists I have seen play both Tarmagoyf and Putrid Leech.

After another 2-3 months, If I am not mistaken, timespiral block rotates out. Dont get me wrong, I think that the new extended will be more popular, but is it really anything more than an super standard? In my opinion, the best thing about the former extended format was that it was a middle ground between standard and legacy. It was more diverse than standard, but without 9000000000 decks that can kill in 2 turns, like legacy. This new extended seems very much like standard all over agian. It sickens me that in 2-3 months, damnation and goyf are rotating to type 1. What do you guys think?

I started playing in ravnica, and its awkward to see that it is legacy only already >_>

Maybe they don't need to rotate Extended quite so quickly but the old Extended was stale and not very popular with a lot of players so they needed to do something. I would be happy if they left it like this until next year but maybe they thought it would be getting boring with same old decks dominating for a year and a half so they figured let's keep cycling a block out when a new block comes in.

I really like the looks of the new Extended. I'll be a happy camper just to never have to play the old Extended again.

Here is another deck for you guys to mul over. I like the idea, but I cant decide on the exact list. This is what I have so far = 4 eldrazi temple, 4 techtonic edge, 2 eye of ugin , 4 kabrika crossroads, 10 plains, 4 everflowing chalice, 3 dreamstone hedron, 4 wall of omens, 4 survival cache, 4 path to exile, 3 o-ring, 3 day of judgement, 4 kozilek, 1 all is dust, 2 ulamog, 2 emakrul. Sideboard has celestial purge and kor firewalker. I am not done with this deck yet, but easily hardcasting eldrazi would be amazing. I dont have any info on matchups or if the deck is even good, but I think that the idea has serious potential. If anyone has some suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I know that there is a similar deck online, but I dont have an exact list. My thoughts were card advantage, mana excelleration, cast stupidly big dudes! If you have a list or know where I can find one, would you post it? I would like to the the differences between my deck and the other one.

Mike....I think I would tweak your list as follows. I think you have a few too many big dudes. Maybe -2 Emrakul and add 1-2 All is Dust. You could also consider a few Expedition Map as it searches out some useful lands for you (e.g. Eye of Ugin and Eldrazi Temple) that means you would also only need 1 Eye of Ugin instead of 2. I like Survival Cache and I like your other removal. Keep in mind that if you up your AIDS count then O-Ring loses value as they get their permanent back. You could also ditch the AIDS portion of the deck and add Sun Titan. It's another fatty and it can bring back Wall of Omens and O-Ring - which is pretty titties. There is also Brittle Effigy now which is great against the pro-white guys - e.g. Bloodwitch.

You need all is dust in that deck, otherwise you fold to planeswalkers really hard.
