OUCH! Humility
Remember a few weeks ago when I posted on here saying that esper was the best deck in standard? I wrecked house down here playing esper winning about 12 -15 matches in a row, so I thought that esper was great. During that time, I beat conscription, RDW, U/W control, superfriends, polymorph, eldrazi green, grixsis, jund, you name it. I was rolling along in my world, untouchable and cocky. I thought that I had broke standard. Then this week happened. On tuesday I went 2-2, beating RDW and eldrazi green, before getting DESTROYED by R/G titan valukut ramp! TWICE! After tuesday, I tweaked esper, thinking that my utter destruction at the hands of Mr primeval was a fluke. Then came friday. I go 3-2, missing the top 8 for the first time in a month! I beat RDW, U/W control, and naya allies. I lost, once agian, to G/R valukut titan ramp! TWICE IN A ROW! I played vs the ramp deck 4 times and the only game that I came close to winning was when my opponent mulled to 5 on the play! I lost that game to. I think that esper is a good deck, it just cant beat the ramp deck! My mana base is just 2 fragile to run 4 tech edge. Adding spreading seas would require me removing to much. Those cards fit well into U/W control, however! If both tech edges and sp. seas aint enough to stop ramp, I swear to god, I am going to board 4 mindlock orb! That should do the trick!

I have split with christain twice and won a cap city tourney with Fauna Conscription. It seems good.

Leyline of Sanctity might be worth trying. I'm not sure if the Valukut decks have a way to destroy it or not, but it should at least buy you time.

I am actually looking into other decks. Red/Black with anathamancer seems interesting. Vampires with green for m. pulse seems just as interesting. I am also looking into blue/white control as well. U/W can fit 4 tech edges and 4 sp seas, while playing both path and day as well as counterspells.

I am also trying to build black/white. My basic idea ia to play 3 sun titan and 3 grave titan. Oblivian ring, executoners capsule, and dispellers capsule all work well with sun titan. I will probably play a few stoneforgers and a few equipment as well. I also really want to play linvala as well. I dont have anything resembling an actual list, however.

I really like the Grave Titan. I have been playing him in Esper Control, and I have been extremely pleased with his performance. He is also strong in Grixis and Jund. I like the Sun Titan too, but he seems a little weaker than the Grave Titan. I would like to try him with Courier's Capsule. He does work really well in Mythic when combined with Dauntless Escort. Combined with Knight of the Reliquary, it makes him virtually impossible to kill.

The one Sun Titan in mythic is cool. I didn't actually get to return any cool cards with him, he just reanimated a Rhox War Monk all day.

I looked at your list for esper control, christian, and it looks like a good list. I think that you would get destroyed by titan-ramp, however. It sucks that the esper deck has such a bad match vs ramp, as I destroyed every other deck that came aginst me. I crushed mono-red, and control usually never has a good match vs burn.

I have done well with the deck vs. Blue-Green ramp decks, but I have never played against the Valakut deck. The main deck Wall of Denials are very strong vs. Jund and mono-red, and it gets better with sideboarding. The Valakut match does look pretty dismal though. I have actually had some success in that match with the Brilliant Ultimatum version of Esper, but it seems much tougher with a conventional control list. Your only real option against multiple Valkuts is to outrace them, and that seems difficult. I really like the matchup against traditional Blue-White though.

Seems like a few people have had key losses to Zack that netted them a Pimeval Titan recently.
