A legacy deck
Ive been working with a deck for legacy. It is built similarly to zacks U/G survival list, with some poorboy changes. The list =

         6 island
         4 forest
         4 breedingpool
         4 misty rainforest
         3 wasteland
         4 rootwalla
         3 aquamobea
         3 wild mongrel
         4 goyf
         4 vengevine
         3 trygon predator
         1 force
         4 foil
         3 stifle
         3 echoing truth
         3 jitte

The board is in flux right now. I have 3 ratchetbombs, another echo, and 4 kitchen finks while everything else changes week to week.

I used to play survival in the goyf slot ( thanks wizards ). The foils are a poor persons force, as the discard doesnt hurt madness decks very badly. The main decks in my meta down here are merfolk, charbelcher, and dredge. Those 3 decks are what I want to beat. The echo may look odd, but these are great vs belcher and dredge. I am depending on my free counters and stifle to protect me from combo.

If you guys have any suggestions that may improve the deck, please let me know. Thanks!

One more thing, are any of you attending the SCG open in kansas city? I will be there as K.C. is less than 2 hours from me. I hope to see some of you there!

Whats up Mike? Josh, Pdude, Chris(who you haven't met), Zack, Steve and Myself will all be in K.C. Hope to see you there. Oh... and possibly Christian I think.

You might want to try Fauna Shaman, possibly in place of the Tarmagoyf.

Yeah, I'm in agreement with the fauna shaman suggestion, but not necessarily running it in place of goyf. Is try to find room for it elsewhere.

Noble heirarch is part of the deck, I just forgot to write it down. The fauna shaman is a good idea, but dropping vengevines in the yard is no longer the decks focus. My goal is to stop combo. If I meet a creature deck, I am hopeing to overpower them with jitte and big dudes. Merfolk is a deck that I think I will have a problem with, due to island walking.

I have settled on a sideboard.
         3 ratchet bombs
         3 k-grip
         2 mindbreak trap
         3 farie macabre
         4 kitchen finks

I am hoping that jitte, finks, and ratchet bomb will beat decks like goblins and zoo. Bomb will also have value vs merfolk. And ( after boards ) having 7 free counterspells will ( i hope ) provide some protection vs. combo.

If you are playing to stop combo and you arent just playing Countertop, you are doing it wrong.

You must remember, zack, that I am not a great legacy mind. I agree that my list isnt optimal, and I wouldnt recomend it to anyone if they were trying to build a great deck.

My problem is that I dont have any countertop lists to go by. I, by myself, am not a great deckbuilder. My favorite thing to do with " netdecks " is to pour over them and tinker.

If you could give me or direct me to a good countertop list, I would be greatful. This would give me a starting point to build myself a good deck.

I can put a link to the list we brewed for Pozsgay the night before the legacy, its U/W Ctop, with the E tutor package. His problem was picking up 3 draws on the day, as he cannot really finish 3 games in time with that deck.

I will take any list, as having a starting point is a great way to build.
