2HG Prerelease
Quick questions...... Do the teams share the pools to make the 3 decks? And do we bring a teammate or is it random?

Bring a teammate, and you share a pool to make 2 decks.

Yes bring a teammate and you both build two 40 card decks, you pick a faction either Mirran or Phyrexia and you each get a foil for that faction. The pool is 4 packs of Scars and 4 packs of your appropriate faction of Besieged.

Oh and if you do not have a teammate it is ok you can still show up and get paired up with somebody, if 21 people show up I will pair up with the odd man out and if 22 people show up I won't play so you are guarenteed to get a teammate.

More questions...... Does a team still only need 10 poison counters to win/lose?

And Martin.... Chris Michael needs a partner for sure and wanted to know if you were down?

Yes 10 poison counters to one player and that team loses the game. I can team up with Chris but if 22 people including Chris show up I would rather make sure they all get to play so if Tim (who I think is looking for a partner) and Chris are the last two people not teamed up with somebody I would rather pair them up rather them telling either one you can't play.

Here is some rules about poison in 2HG:
You don't assign poison counters, you assign combat damage, and receiving an according number of poison counters is just done by the game:
This rule explains how combat damage is assigned (and ultimately dealt) in 2HG:
810.7f. As the combat damage step begins, the active team announces how each attacking creature will assign its combat damage. If an attacking creature would assign combat damage to the defending team, the active team chooses only one of the defending players for that creature to assign its combat damage to. Then the defending team announces how each blocking creature will assign its combat damage. See rule 510.1.
This new rule explains how infect works when damaging a player:
119.3b Damage dealt to a player by a source with infect causes that player to get that many poison counters.
Both rules together basically tell you that you choose one player to get the poison counters. Once that player has 10 poison counters, the team loses. (You could also spread the counters across both players, but that would be strategically worse).

Josh is coming despite his "boycott" being that he sucks at 2hg.
